The Colorado Chapter of the ACRL invites Colorado academic librarians to come together for a 1-day conference on June 15, 2026, from 10am-4pm at the Anderson Academic Commons on the University of Denver campus. The day will include a keynote address, roundtable conversations, and plenty of time for networking with your colleagues.
Call for Session Proposals
We encourage you to submit a session proposal for the conference. Please complete the session proposal form by February 13, 2026. Anyone can submit a presentation, but priority will be given to those working/studying librarianship (i.e. vendor presentations will be considered, but they must offer value to the profession and not be a sales pitch). Our planning committee will select presentations and notify presenters in early March.
Conference session types will include:
· Breakout sessions - Breakout sessions are 50 minutes long and include presentations, panel sessions, workshops, etc. This experience should be interactive and engaging for participants.
· Short session – Designed as a focused 15-20-minute presentation, this session introduces participants to a topic and highlights findings and practical implications, providing attendees with a clear overview and ideas for further exploration.
· Lightning round sessions - Lightning round sessions maximize the amount of information shared about innovative and exciting projects, services, or ideas. Each presenter (or small group) will be given five minutes to present on a topic, followed by three minutes of audience Q&A.
· Poster session – Poster sessions allow for visual representations of research and informal interaction with conference attendees. The poster session will be a part of the lunch break (held at the end, so presenters will have time to eat).
Possible presentation topics might include (but can be about other things, too):
· AI (in teaching, cataloging, preservation, and more)
· Assessment
· Budgets, personnel, and administration
· Inclusive hiring and on-boarding
· Inclusive/decolonized metadata and description
· Information/Digital Literacy
· Library employee morale
· Open Access (OER, open pedagogy, etc.)
· Outreach with campus or community partners
· Negotiating licensing agreements
· Student well-being/mental health
· Teaching and Learning
The deadline for proposals is February 13, 2026. Questions? Contact Jayne Blodgett at jayne.blodgett@unco.edu.
